What Should I Post If I’m Not Booking Anything Right Now?
Let’s get real—one of the most common social media questions I hear from actors is: “What am I supposed to post if I haven’t booked in a while?”
And I get it. When you’re not on set, on stage, or in rehearsal, it’s easy to feel like you have nothing worth sharing. But here’s the truth:
Your value as an actor doesn’t disappear between bookings.
If you want to grow your visibility, build real connections, and stay top of mind, you don’t need a resume full of credits—you need a consistent presence. And that means showing up even when you’re “between gigs.”
Here’s What to Post When You’re Not Booking:
1. Behind-the-Scenes of Your Process
What are you learning? What are you working on? Maybe it’s a class, a self-tape, a new monologue, or even prepping for pilot season. Bring us into your world.
2. Celebrate the Small Wins
Got a callback? Self-submitted to 10 projects this week? Reshot your headshots? That matters. Share it. You can also share what I call your ‘Milestone Moments” I dive into those in this article here.
3. Share Industry-Adjacent Content
Maybe you attended a workshop, saw a great performance, or read something that fired you up as an artist.
Example: “Saw The Outsiders on Broadway last night and I’m not okay 😭 This show reminded me exactly why I started acting.”
4. Let Your Personality Shine
Your personality is your brand. Post your sense of humor, your morning routine, your favorite audition snacks. You don’t have to perform to show up online.
5. Share past projects with a creative twist!
Make a ‘Script-to-screen’ video of a past project:
These catch the eye of both industry folks and your non-industry followers who are here for the journey. Need my help creating these? I show you step-by-step in Tech Savvy Actors!
OR don’t be afraid to use social media as a virtual stage to share your talents! This article will help you share monologues on social media (the right way).
6. Educate or Entertain Your Audience
Create value. Teach a tip you learned in acting class. Share a resource. Or just make someone laugh. This builds trust and community.
You don’t need a booking to have something to say.
Social media isn’t just a highlight reel—it’s a visibility tool. The actors who show up consistently (even when they’re not on set) are the ones who stay top of mind when opportunities pop up.
📌 Not booking right now? That doesn’t mean you're stuck. It means you have a chance to build. Use it!
