The 7-Day Kindness Challenge for Actors on Social Media!

There’s a lot of chaos in our feeds right now—arguments, negativity, endless self-promotion. It’s a lot.

But what if you flipped the script?

What if you used social media to connect, uplift, and celebrate others?

In the spirit of kindness (and World Kindness Day—November 13th), I created a simple 7-Day Kindness Challenge for Actors who want to make social media a little warmer, brighter, and more human.

So if you’re ready to share the love and spread kindness with intention, here’s your challenge:

💛 DAY 1: DM a Colleague with an “I Appreciate You” Message

When was the last time you really thanked someone you know in the business…just because? Send a direct message to a friend, coach, or colleague in the industry. Not to network. Not to promote anything. Just to say: “I appreciate you.”

Like Oprah says: “That’s the gift of gratitude: In order to feel it, your ego has to take a backseat.”

💛 DAY 2: Create a Gratitude Post

Make a public post thanking someone who’s had a meaningful impact on your journey. It could be a teacher, a best friend, a scene partner, or a mentor. Tag them if appropriate, and encourage others to do the same. One act of kindness can start a chain reaction.

💛 DAY 3: Share a Quote About Gratitude

Sometimes the right words can shift someone’s whole day. Share your favorite gratitude quote (or create a simple graphic with it using something like Canva). You never know who might need the reminder.

💛 DAY 4: Publicly Thank a Mentor or Influencer

Think of someone you’ve learned from—a coach, casting director, or artist who’s inspired you. Give them a public shout-out (on Stories, a tweet, or a post). Be specific. Be genuine. It’s about acknowledging those who helped shape you.

💛 DAY 5: Thank Your Followers

Take a moment to thank the people who support you online. Record a short video, go LIVE, or write a heartfelt post. Let your followers know they’re not just numbers—they’re part of your journey.

💛 DAY 6: Reach Out to an Artist Who’s Inspired You

Maybe it’s someone famous. Maybe it’s someone with 1000 followers. Send them a short message or comment about how their work moved you. Be specific. Keep it brief. This is not about getting a reply - it’s about making a connection!

💛 DAY 7: Brighten 3 People’s Feeds!

Scroll through your feed and leave meaningful, encouraging comments on 3 different people’s posts. It costs nothing, takes just a few minutes, and can totally shift someone’s mood.

🌟 BONUS CHALLENGES (for the kindness overachievers):

🔹 Write a LinkedIn Recommendation
Publicly endorse someone’s work or skills. These kinds of testimonials go a long way.

🔹 Go Live and Fundraise
Use Instagram’s fundraiser button to raise awareness for a nonprofit that matters to you. 100% of donations go directly to the org.

🔹 Share this Challenge! Send this article to a friend…Kindness spreads when you share it.
