Grow Your Acting Career on Instagram (Using the Favorites Feed)
When actors think about networking, they often picture grabbing coffee with a casting director, director, or fellow actor. But today, some of the most important relationship-building happens online.
That’s where virtual coffee dates come in.
A virtual coffee date doesn’t have to mean Zoom or FaceTime. It can be as simple as staying connected with the people who already know, like and trust you, by showing up for them consistently on Instagram. Thoughtful comments, a quick cheer-on, or even a like can keep you on their radar in a genuine way…in between bookings and auditions.
One of the best tools for this is Instagram’s Favorites Feed.
It allows you to prioritize posts from the people you most want to keep in touch with - so instead of hoping you see their updates in the main feed, their posts will always show up at the top.
Here’s how to set up your favorites feed?
Go to the feed (where you see other people’s post) and look at the top where it says Instagram.
Click on the down arrow to the right of ‘Instagram’
Click on Favorites and add the people who Know, Like and Trust your work here (you can add up to 50 accounts).
⬆️ These people will show up at the top of your regular feed and in a separate Favorites Feed! Make it a habit to have your virtual coffee dates by checking that feed and engaging with their posts in an authentic way.
You’ll be growing and strengthening relationships one comment, one like, or one share at a time 💗
